The condition of sheet piles in Central Jakarta is very worrying and not feasible anymore. One of them is the Utan Kayu's connecting channel's sheet pile located in Cempaka Putih Timur Urban Village, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta. As a result, many citizens and office employees are complaining, because their areas often flooded during rainy season.

Head of Central Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Herning Wahyuningsih stated thus far, the sheet pile in Utan Kayu area is still under repair by PT Ide Murni since August and almost complete. The repair that takes 2 kilometers has spent Rp 43,623,477.
Wahyuningsih disclosed such repair is targeted to finish in mid-December. She explained, the sheet pile concrete piles as deep as 12 meters was built to anticipate overflowing water, especially during rainy season.
"Another function of the sheet pile is also to minimize damaged roads on the riverbank," she told, Wednesday (10/22).
On the other hand, she furthered, project implementer was required to replace the felled trees along the Utan Kayu's connecting channel's sheet pile. "We have coordinated with the Parks Sub-Department to replace those trees," he expressed.
Even, the construction of the sheet pile has received appreciation from Chairman of Indonesian National Committee on Non-Governmental Organization (KN-LSM), Hobbin. "Through sheet pile, I hope flooding in Cempaka Putih Timur can be minimized soon," he finished.
