Central Jakarta Focuses on Controlling Dengue Cases

Entering rainy season in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, Central Jakarta Government focuses on anticipating dengue fever (DBD) in the region.

Central Jakarta Deputy Head, Irwandi mentioned, even though there was no increase in dengue cases during last November, his side still encouraged people to implement 3M (drain, bury, and close).

"We encourage people to remain active in draining, burying and closing movements. Thus there are no dengue mosquito larvae," he said, Thursday (11.05%).

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Health Agency Head, Erizon Safari, explained that based on data up to October 2020, dengue cases can still be under controlled.

Until August 2020, said Erizon, there were only 362 dengue cases with no cases in September.

According to him, all Puskesmas in Central Jakarta continue to aggressively provide 3M counseling in an effort to prevent dengue fever cases.

For information, dbd.bmkg.go.id website which contained of information regarding dengue early warning in DKI Jakarta for November 2020, the Climate Suitability (RH) level for dengue occurrence in Central Jakarta area is at the moderate level with probability of 75 percent. However, dengue incidence rate (AI) in Central Jakarta is 0.3 and it is still in the safe category.
