Nine Jakarta Neighborhoods Flooded after Sunday Afternoon Rain

Of nine RTs, eight are in South Jakarta and one is in East Jakarta

Moderate to heavy rain in Greater Jakarta on Sunday afternoon has left at least nine neighborhood units (RT) in South and East Jakarta inundated.

Jakarta BPBD's Center for Disaster Data and Information (Pusdatin) Head Mohammad Insaf said, at 1 PM, the water reached 10-30 cm.

"Of nine RTs, eight are in South Jakarta and one is in East Jakarta," he said, Sunday (11/8).

Those nine inundated RTs were Kebagusan Urban Village (two RTs), Kalibata Urban Village (three RTs), Jagakarsa Urban Village (one RT), Petogogan Urban Village (one RT), Pejaten Barat Urban Village (one RT) and Balakembang Urban Village (one RT).

Nevertheless his party continued to coordinate with local urban village and sub-district heads to handle it by sending orange troops and water resources (SDA) task forces.

"Coordination is important to speed up water receding," he stated.
