Moving to Jakarta, Here are Things Needed to Apply for Change of Residence Letter

Jakarta Population and Civil Registry (Dukcapil) Agency provides information for newcomers or residents outside of Jakarta who want to apply for change of residence documents to become Jakarta residents.

Newcomers should bring their birth certificate, marriage certificate for those who are married or divorce certificate for those who are divorced

Jakarta Dukcapil Agency Head, Dhany Sukma suggested people from outside of Jakarta to bring moving certificate from their origin area, include resident's biodata and residence guarantee statement letter from home owner or apartment manager, or guarantor's family card (KK) and identity card (KTP) if they stay at guarantor's house.

"Newcomers should bring their birth certificate, marriage certificate for those who are married or divorce certificate for those who are divorced," he stated, Monday (11/9).

After bringing the required documents, he continued, applicant should take the queue number at the local urban village office and submitted the application documents. Then, officer will receive and verify the file. After that, officer will process and issue change of residence letter which called Surat Keterangan Pindah Datang (SKPD).

"Officer will submit SKPD to local Dukcapil Sub-agency and process applicant's family card and KTP. When finished, officer will provide applicant with new family card and KTP," he conveyed.
