"In the second phase trial of Senen Extension Underpass, we open underpass for road users. On the first trial, underpass was opened periodically, but on the second trial, it will be opened all day long," he mentioned, Tuesday (12/1).
During the trial, Jakarta Bina Marga and Transportation Agency (Dishub) would monitor traffic conditions and road users behavior that will be evaluated before permanent operation.
"When the road can be used well, we will do little refinement. Its inauguration will be held on the third or fourth week of December," he explained.
For information, Senen Extension Underpass construction has entered the final stage. Its process has touched 98 percent.
Based on evaluation from the first phase trial on November 9-10, there were several things needed to be improved, including traffic signs and traffic lights installation and traffic congestion at Simpang Senen.
For Senen Extension Underpass project, his side was not only improving underpass but also re-functioning JPO (pedestrian bridge) and Transjakarta bus stops that have been returned to the original positions.
"Although JPO is not completed 100 percent, people can already use it to access Transjakarta bus stops or as a crossing," he mentioned.
