178 Pump Houses' Conditions Monitored Regularly by SDA Agency

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency carried out routine maintenance on 178 pump houses throughout Jakarta.

This routine maintenance was conducted to ensure the condition of pump, generator set, and other infrastructures are in great condition to face rainy season.

Jakarta SDA Agency Head, Juaini Yusuf also conveyed that pump is a vital infrastructure and most important part in overcoming flood because parts of Jakarta is below the sea level.

Pump Houses in Cengkareng is Routinely Checked

"Pump routine maintenance is carried out by operator to ensure pump to operate optimally thus water drainage system can minimize the occurrence of inundation when rain falls," he stated, Friday (12/4).

According to him, Jakarta SDA Agency is responsible for the operation of 478 pumps which located in 178 pump houses throughout Jakarta. We make sure to do routine maintenance and repair damaged pumps.

His side also reminded pump house personnel to be on standby for 24 hours thus they can overcome any problems immediately.

"Therefore, we always control pumps conditions and their preparedness on the field. We always remind pump house personnel to be on standby during rainy season and tidal flood," he mentioned.
