"Please be aware, I have to read every day. Waking up in the morning at 5.30 AM, I do exercise and then read while waiting to dry my sweat," said Basuki in front of hundreds of students, at the opening of Jakarta Children's Reading Day (HANJABA), at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (10/29).

Basuki also told about his late father's advice who has reminded him to reading routinely. "My father told me, if the clock is not ticking, it means to die. It's like people who do not like reading. That's why, he gave me the name Ahok 'Hok means learning," he expressed.

The event was also attended by Deputy Governor of Tourism and Culture Division Sylviana Murni, Head of Sports and Youth Department Ratiyono, Head of Education Department Lasro Marbun, and West Jakarta Mayor Anas Effendi.

After giving the speech, he took a look at some exhibition stands around the park reading in the yard of the TIM.
