The Central Jakarta Administration built a public reading park right around the Central Jakarta library building in an effort to enhance interest in reading and facilitate people in accessing books.

Acting Central Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi hopes the reading park can be used well by people. "Hopefully, it (park) could encourage people to love reading," he hoped, Thursday (10/23).
Head of Central Jakarta Library and Achieve, Ajang Pinem added that reading park is the first time in Central Jakarta. "I hope the other areas would be interested in making the same way," he expressed.
He added, the park as long as 70 square meters has been equipped with free wi-fi and laptops. "Thus far, the park has been equipped six laptops. If the site can attract many visitors, its existence will be added. We also provide best seller books and newspapers," he told.
