Next year, we will propose 14 new public reading parks
Central Jakarta Library and Archives Office is facilitating the public reading park in a bid to foster interest in reading among the public. Until now, there have been 42 reading parks spread in Central Jakarta.
Ajang Pinem, Head of Central Jakarta Library and Archives Office said reading park procurement is a request from the public submitted through the Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang). To facilitate the park, his party lends books, bookshelves, tables and chairs.

To propose public reading park, he will first conduct a survey. As for the book, he will provide a package that contains 150 titles. "Perhaps, there would be two packages, depending on demand," he exclaimed.
He added that book lending is valid for three months. After three months, his party will withdraw the books and replace them with new title.
He details most books are fiction or story (60 percent), general books (30 percent) and religious books (10 percent). Some also ask entrepreneurial book, like catfish breeding and cooking," he uttered.
