Jakarta PPAPP Operates SAPA Posts in 10 Universities

Jakarta Empowerment, Children Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Agency operated Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak (SAPA) Post in 10 private universities in Jakarta. This post will be an initial reference that can be used by students or people around campus to get communication, information, and violence education service.

As of December 2020, Jakarta SAPA Post officially operates in 10 universities which collaborating with Jakarta Government through PPAPP Agency

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head, Tuty Kusumawati conveyed, 10 private universities which collaborated with PPAPP had signed the cooperation agreement.

"As of December 2020, Jakarta SAPA Post officially operates in 10 universities which collaborating with Jakarta Government through PPAPP Agency," she mentioned, Monday (12/14).

For information, Jakarta PPAPP Agency has appointed lecturers in 10 universities who will be responsible for SAPA Post operation in each locations. Each posts also equipped with contact numbers of responsible lecturers.

Moreover, her side has also trained those lecturers about case handling, victim assessment, and referrals if there are cases that can't be handled at SAPA Post.

"We appoint lecturers as person in charge (PIC). They are from psychology, health, and community health departments. We choose them as PIC to allow for an academic approach and they can stay there as long as they haven't retired. We also equipped their contact number thus when there is a problem, people can contact them," she said.

According to her, it was the continuation of SAPA Post which has been operating in all LRT and MRT stations, and several Transjakarta bus stops since 2019.

"We hope the surrounding community can take advantage of SAPA Post. If there are violence cases, hopefully it that can be resolved at SAPA Post, but if not, it can be brought to Children and Women Empowerment Integrated Service Center Unit (P2TP2A). We hope the more we provide SAPA Post, the more cases are handled," she expressed.
