City Continues to Implement Learning from Home Method for All Schools in Even Semester of 2020/2021

Jakarta Government through Education Agency (Disdik) continues to enforce learning from home for all schools in Jakarta Province in even semester of 2020/2021 academic year.

Jakarta Disdik Head, Nahdiana mentioned, students and teachers' health and safety are the top priorities in this pandemic.
Jakarta Government is very careful in making policies related to the face-to-face learning implementation in even semester of 2020/2021 academic year. The main priority is health and safety of all students, teachers and education personnel. Face-to-face learning cannot be implemented thus all schools in Jakarta will continue to learn from home (BDR)," she said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Saturday (1/2).

Several recommendation have also been accepted to ensure students' health and safety in face-to-face learning policies that have been taken.
Her side has also prepared Siap Belajar website that will be used to assess schools in Jakarta.
Siap Belajar website aims to measure the readiness of educational units in carrying out learning activities in even semester of 2020/2021 academic year. Each assessment points at Siap Belajar site have criteria that have been adjusted to the policy standards of Education and Culture Ministry (Kemdikbud), Jakarta Education Agency Head Decree No. 1130/2020, and guidelines issued by UNESCO and OECD.
"We have been processing it for a long time. We always coordinate with various parties, from Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI), Jakarta Health Agency, Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), education experts, educational platforms and partners, and students' parents to ensure our assessment standards to be more accurate," she stated.
The assessment's results will be used as the basis for Jakarta Education Agency to determine which schools are ready and able to implement blended learning, where combining face-to-face learning with home learning. Schools that meet the criteria in the assessment will be a model for blended learning implementation in Jakarta.
She explained, Siap Belajar site would not stop at school assessment stage, but continued with school conditions direct verification. Later on
, its implementation will be monitored and evaluated at schools which selected to be the models. Jakarta Disdik expected for schools cooperation and active roles of parents and the community to convey their opinions regarding its implementation in this even semester."Of course, we intensify the socialization to existing education units We have also used JAKI (Jakarta Kini) platform to fill in CLM (Corona Likelihood Metric) which is one of the components of Siap Belajar assessment," she added.
In implementing blended learning, parents have full rights to determine whether their children are allowed to take blended learning or learning from home. It means, school has to be ready to continue implementing learning from home method, especially for schools that don't meet the criteria or don't become the model schools.
She ensured that her side will continue to educate and provide further information regarding blended learning, especially for students and parents.
"We will continue to ensure harmony between us and parents as well as teachers. Especially blended learning is a new scheme that is not widely understood. It is our duty to provide this information to public," she stated.
All processes related to blended learning will be prepared well before it is implemented. Including health protocols, teaching, and learning activities.
