Jakarta Provincial Government on Monday (11/3) is going to demolish the illegal buildings stood at the west side of Pluit Reservoir, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The demolition is done because previously 34 families had received the keys to flat they are being relocated to.

It is planned that the demolition is carried out gradually. For initial stage, the buildings to be demolished first are the ones belong to families who have agreed to be relocated, but not yet demolish their buildings.
For information, currently at the west side of Pluit Reservoir or RT 19/17, Penjaringan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, there are 200 buildings. From that amount, 10 percent of the building owners have not agreed to be relocated due to the amount of compensation has not been reached yet. That 10 percent of the buildings are mostly rent houses.

But if until Monday (11/3) they have not done it, the demolition will be carried out by officers.
“We give chance to the building owners to demolish their buildings themselves. Or else, we will demolish the buildings on Monday. For the rest of the buildings, they will be demolished gradually. We’ll hold meeting to find solution for those who still refuse to be relocated. Usually, we give them seven days (to demolish their buildings) after the first demolition,” he uttered, Saturday (11/1).
Meanwhile, Project Implementer for Jakarta Rivers and Reservoirs Normalization, Heriyanto, disclosed that on Monday (11/3) his side would deploy heavy equipment for the inspection road widening and elevating project. Later, the road as long as 1.5 kilometers from behind Pluit Timur Police Post until Jalan Muara Baru would be widened from 4.5 meters to 7.5 meters, and then elevated for about 50 centimeters high.
“I hope the relocation process could finish in mid-November, so we can concentrate on the (Pluit Reservoir) normalization project. Afterwards, we can start the project from Muara Baru,” he stated.
