Jakarta Government through Health Agency (Dinkes) has started COVID-19 vaccination today. Vaccination is carried out for health workers who receive SMS blast from central government and have re-registered themselves. It was conveyed by Jakarta Health Agency Head, Widyastuti at today's media briefing which held virtually.
Until January 11, we have received total 120,040 vials
"In phase 1 term 1, based on the allocation from main target of Health Human Resources, for Phase 1 COVID-19 vaccination, there are 131,000 people in all health facilities in Jakarta based on data at SI-SDMK website as of January 11, 2021. However, the data is dynamic. We have to make sure the existing logistic can secure two doses for one person because vaccine will be given two doses (two times), where the second will be given after 14 days," he explained as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, on Thursday (1/14).
Meanwhile, launching at provincial level will be carried out tomorrow (1/15) by injecting 21 people. Previously, Jakarta Health Agency had received 39,200 vials of Sinovac Vaccine from PT. Biofarma since January 4, 2021, then another 39,200 vials on January 7, and 41,640 vials on January 11 which stored at Cold Room of Jakarta Health Agency Office's Vaccine Warehouse.

Vaccine has been distributed since Tuesday (1/12) to municipalities/regency in Jakarta. Distribution is carried out in stages, starting from Health Agency to Health Sub-agencies, then Health Center (Puskesmas) to all health facilities where vaccination is held, including hospitals, by paying a great attention to the cold chain of vaccines in each location. Currently, vaccine distribution and logistic have been started from Health Agency to Health Sub-agencies and Health Facilities.
"We have conducted simulation in distributing logistics and vaccination flow in health facilities with Health Sub-agencies, Puskesmas, and BPJS Kesehatan (Health BPJS). There are 488 health facilities in Jakarta that have been registered by P-Care BPJS as the executor of COVID-19 immunization according to the stipulated requirements," she added.
Those 488 health facilities are consisting of regional public hospitals (RSUDs), TNI/Police/Vertical Hospitals, private hospitals, Puskesmas, and government/private clinics throughout Jakarta. While according to Permenkes 84/2020, COVID-19 vaccination service is carried out in Health Service Facilities from central government, regional government or private sector that meet the requirements of health service facilities, such as health centers (Puskesmas), supporting Puskesmas, and COVID-19 vaccination service posts, clinics, hospitals, or health service unit at Port Health Office (KKP).
Requirements for Health Service Facilities to carry out COVID-19 vaccination are:
a. Have health workers to carry out COVID-19 vaccination
b. Have cold chain facility according to the type of COVID-19 vaccine used or in accordance with provisions of laws
c. Have operational permit as Health Service Facility or stipulated by Health Minister according to provisions of laws
Jakarta Health Agency, Sub-agencies, Puskesmas, and health facilities for vaccination that have been registered in P-Care already have vaccine storage room or Cold Room for Health Agency, COld Chain for Health Sub-agencies, and Puskesmas, where according to WHO standards, it should at temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius which is calibrated and monitored. Vaccine storage management is also strictly enforced by officers to ensure vaccine stability remains good, from the factory, vaccine storage installation, until the vaccine is injected by the vaccinator to the target.
The number of vaccinators who are available throughout Jakarta is 1,500 vaccinators with daily target of 19,741 vaccines. Government has also provided training for COVID-19 vaccinators with total 2,325 participants.
She also explained that Jakarta Health Agency together with Regional Committee for Study and Management of Post-Immunization Associated Events (KOMDA PP KIPI) have prepared a team to monitor the impact of post-vaccination at every level of administration. Moreover, her side has also prepared 21 referral hospitals if the target needs treatment after the immunization.
