The Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has started repairing the damaged wave barriers in Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.
Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency Head Abdul Rouf said, the damage was caused by high waves for several weeks.

To conduct the repair, he explained, as many as 20 personnel had been alerted to the location.
"It is done using gabion wire (bronjong) and river stones. It has been ongoing since January 18 and is targeted to be complete in a week," he stated.
