Rainy Season, 10 Channel Points in Central Jakarta Cleaned

We're doing this to follow up complaints from residents, to anticipate flooding

The Tanah Abang Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit, Central Jakarta has dredged the water channels spread over 10 locations since early January 2021 until now.

Eli Menawan Sari, Executing Unit Head of Tanah Abang Sub-district said 6 out of 10 locations had been dredged. They were located on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat 5, RT 08/RW 04 (73 meters long), Jalan Administrasi 2 LAN, RW 09 Petamburan (335 meters long), Jalan Petamburan 2, RW 03 (300 meters long).

Then Jalan Kampung Bali 13 (250 meters long), Jalan Petamburan VI (400 meters long), and Jalan Palmerah Selatan (200 meters long).

As for four other channels still being dredged were on Jalan Palmerah Utara (500 meters long), Jalan Palmerah Barat (250 meters long), Jalan Petamburan III, RW 04 (100 meters long), and Jalan Petamburan VII, RW 06 (130 meters long).

"We're doing this to follow up complaints from residents, to anticipate flooding," she told, Tuesday (1/26).

She hoped that it could be able to anticipate flooding during the rainy season.

"We also call on locals not to throw trash in the channel," he stressed.
