Jakarta Vice Governor Ahmad Riza Patria, attended the process of destroying evidence of drugs revealed by the Polda Metro Jaya for Drug Research Directorate at the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate's Promoter Field, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (2/3).
He appreciated and welcomed the performance of Polda Metro Jaya in breaking the chain of drug abuse in the capital.

He asserted that the city administration would keep working hard by optimally combating drug abuse, collaborating with Polda Metro Jaya and other related parties throughout the Jakarta area. The chain of drug abuse should also be stopped in order to realize 'zero case' in Jakarta.
"We're going to maximize various ways through the OPD such as socialization about the dangers of drug abuse and dependence," he explained.
Polda Metro Jaya Chief Ir. Gen. Muhammad Fadil Imran explained that drug evidence had been destroyed from October 2020 to January 2021. He added, drug trafficking was still happening, either by national or international networks. That's why, to realize zero case in Jakarta, we intend to continuously disclose various drug abuse cases in Jakarta.
"The drug evidence destroyed today, namely 217.44 kg of shabu, 801.48 kg of marijuana, 18,000 pills of ecstasy, and 1.37 kg of gorilla tobacco. This destroying will have a method using an incinerator device that is very high temperature, thus the drug evidence is completely burned out and does not cause negative effects on the surrounding community," he explained.
It was attended by representatives of the Attorney General's Office; Narcotics and Other Addictive Substances Director, Darmawel Aswar; representatives of the Jakarta High Court; representatives of Bareskrim Polri; representatives of Customs and Excise; representatives of Jakarta MUI; public figures, and others.
