Taman Ismail Marzuki will Be Equipped with Courtyard Theater

PT. Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) will build Teater Halaman (Courtyard Theater) at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), on Jalan Cikini Raya, Menteng, Central Jakarta. This project is a part of TIM Revitalization Phase 2 that will start this year.

The purpose of build ing Courtyard Theater is to provide a comfortable space for expression, supported by beautiful atmosphere, as well as increasing green open space (RTH).

PT. Jakpro Corporate Communication Manager, Melisa Sjah mentioned, Courtyard Theater's design will be semi-circle with comfortable seating. Thus audience can feel different enjoyment and experience when watching cultural arts performances.

"Area around Courtyard Theater will be also equipped with retention basin and shady trees. It will be also equipped with various facilities to make Taman Ismail Marzuki area become more comfortable and cool," he mentioned, Thursday (2/4).

Its construction also in line with Jakarta Government's commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GRK) emissions. Therefore, new TIM concept after being revitalized is to increase green open spaces and third place.

"We want to facilitate Jakartans a place to gather with others, express themselves, and interact with the same passion for environmental sustainability," she asserted.
