Anticipating flood, West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency dredged Angke River at Jembatan Pesing - Kampung Gusti segment.

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Drainage Maintenance Section Head, Wawan Kurniawan stated, dredging was carried out because mud sedimentation thickness on the location reached 2.5 meters.
"We dredge along 3,200 meters. This dredging has been started since January 20 and targeted to finish in April 2021," he conveyed, Thursday (2/4).
Mud Dredging Process in Sentiong River has Reached 95 PercentHis side deployed heavy equipment, consisting of 2 amphibians and 1 long excavator, as well as 8 SDA Sub-agency personnel.
According to him, mud dredged from the river will be dumped in Ancol, North Jakarta.
"Dredging is expected to increase river's capacity thus it can minimize inundation, especially when heavy rain falls," he closed.
