Firefighter and PPSU Help Locals Clean Up Mud Due to Flooding

It also aims to clean the environment thus locals can avoid disease

Eight personnel of Pasar Minggu Sub-district Sector IX Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency together with 10 PPSU members help local residents to clean up mud and waste left by floods in Pejaten Timur Urban Village, South Jakarta.

Pejaten Timur Urban Village Head, Mohammad Rasyid said two fire engines were sent to spray mud on neighborhood roads to accelerate the post-flood normalization process.

"It also aims to clean the environment thus locals can avoid disease," he said, Tuesday (2/9).

He stated floods caused by the overflowing waters of the Ciliwung River had inundated RW 03, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09 and 10 and slowly began to recede at 5 AM.

"The condition goes to normal at 10 AM. This disaster had an impact on 243 households in seven RWs," he expressed.

Similar statement also came out from Didin, Chairman of RW 08 Pejaten Timur Urban Village. According to him, the water receded along with the decrease in water discharge in the river. In its area, there were five RTs affected by the flood, namely RT 05, 06, 07, and 09.

"Now residents assisted by PPSU members working together to clean up the mud and waste from the floods," he stated.
