Mud Dredging in Sentiong River Goes Well, Acting Mayor Says

It has been gone well so far

Central Jakarta Acting Mayor Irwandi, took his time to monitor the gerebek lumpur (cleanup action) in the Senting River, Galur, Johar Baru, on Sunday (12/6).

He stated that it was one of his party's priority programs in dealing with floods.

"It has been gone well so far," he expressed.

He revealed that the water downstream was currently flowing fast after the river was dredged. It was because the Senen sub-district and Galur urban village heads held a routine cleanup action along the river.

He was optimistic that this action would be able to overcome the inundation problem in Johar Baru area.

"We actually focus on the downstream and then continued to the upstream thus the water can flow smoothly," he explained.

In the field, his party deployed hundreds of joint personnel under the Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, PPSU, Environment Sub-agency, Fire and Rescue Sub-agency, Transportation Sub-agency, early awareness society forum (FKDM), police and army.

"We also send two excavators to dredge the mud," he closed.
