Micro Channels at Pegadungan Cleaned

The Pegadungan Urban Village together with local residents held a cleanup action in RW 04, 06 and 09.

It is done to anticipate puddles and floods in the rainy season and to maintain cleanliness

The cleanup involved the ranks of PPSU, RT/RW chairmen and caretakers, public figures, sub-district social agency (LMK), and Karang Taruna.

"From the mircro channels, three cubic meters of waste or 100 sacks of waste have been transported. We also have managed to clean up six cubic meters or 280 sacks of mud," expressed Pegadungan Urban Village Head, Adith Pratama, Monday (12/28).

Flood Mitigation Still in Progress, Vice Governor Says

He explained, it was a routine agenda in each RW, which aimed to smoothen water flow and accommodate rainwater in large quantities.

"It is done to anticipate puddles and floods in the rainy season and to maintain cleanliness," he said.

His party urged the RT/RW chairmen and public figures to always hold socialization about caring for the environment towards locals.

"The channels that have been cleaned must be maintain jointly. Do not litter, especially into channels," he stated.
