Social Sub-agency Builds Public Kitchen at East Jakarta Sport Center

Starting Tuesday (2/9) East Jakarta Social Sub-agency built public kitchen in East Jakarta Sport Center (GOR) on Jl. Otista Raya, Jatinegara. As many as 20 Taruna Siaga Bencana (Tagana) members were deployed to prepare food for flood victims.

This way, personnel can serve flood victims who need assistance immediately

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Purwono mentioned, his side sets up public kitchen on Jl. Otista because it is located strategically near the flood point and protocol road that makes it easy for mobility.

Logistic Aid Distributed to Flood-stricken Areas in East Jakarta

"This way, personnel can serve flood victims who need assistance immediately," he conveyed.

He informed, this public kitchen prepared lunch and dinner for flood victims in six urban villages. This afternoon, as many as 3,250 food packages and mineral water were distributed to the flood victims in Cawang, Cililitan, Balekambang, Kebon Manggis, Melayu, and Bidara Cina Urban Villages.

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency's Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Section Head, Abdul Salam added, public kitchen personnel will be added by involving social volunteer personnel because number of food and beverage which distributed to flood-affected residents are also increased.

"Public kitchen operation at East Jakarta GOR will start today until the condition is completely back to normal and safe," he stated.

According to him, public kitchen has provided staple foods for the flood victims, such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour, vegetables, meat, egg, fish, and others.

"Residents who affected by flood don't need to worry because we will supply them with food and drinks," he asserted.
