Food Inspection, Personnel Take Milkfish Samples on Jl. Sulaiman

West Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency together with Jakarta KPKP Agency tested samples of milkfish sold by seasonal traders on Jl. Sulaiman, Kemanggisan Village, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.
All the fish sold in here are fresh
West Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Iwan Indriyanto mentioned, milkfish samples were taken from 23 traders.
"There are five samples with negative results, means it is not contaminated with dangerous substances, such as formalin. All the fish sold in here are fresh," he stated at the location, Thursday (2/11).
City Intensifies Food Inspection in Modern Markets in JakartaDuring the inspection, personnel took samples from fish which suspected containing of dangerous substances. Not only carrying out sample test, his side also checked fish organs, such as eyes and gills, to ensure it is in good condition.
"Fish gills don't look pale. The eyes are also not too convex and milkfish eyes are not dislodged, indicating the fish is still fresh," he said.
Jakarta KPKP Agency Acting Head (Plt), Suharini Eliawati conveyed, her side took fish samples to protect residents from harmful substances, thus residents can buy fish, meat, and vegetables safely and comfortably.
"Thus they can stay healthy. It is one of our efforts to protect Jakarta residents," she asserted.
Ahead of Lunar New Year, Jl. Sulaiman in Kemanggisan Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta is always crowded with seasonal milkfish traders.
