As many as 18 joint personnel of East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency and Jakarta KPKP Agency, held a sudden inspection (sidak) in five traditional markets, on Wednesday (1/20).
Livestock and Animal Health Division Head Irma Budiany said that there was not a single beef seller selling in the markets, because of price hike on beef from Rp 90,000 per kg to Rp 140,000 to Rp 150,000 per kg.

To overcome this scarcity of beef, her division had coordinated with the Agriculture Minister in order to stabilize the price. If the price was still expensive, they would find it difficult to sell.
"Based on the observation results, we predict this condition to run until January 22 or 23," she concluded.
