Connecting channel dredging work which carried out since January 4 on Jalan Tebet Timur Dalam XI, Tebet Timur Urban Village, South Jakarta was targeted to finish in the end of this February.
We dredge the channel to normalize the water flow
Tebet Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit Head, Fachri conveyed, from total 250 meters, it has been dredged as long as 190 meters. This dredging was carried out by 6 SDA Unit personnel who dredge the channel every day using hoes, shovels, crowbars, and dustpan.
"We dredge the channel to normalize the water flow, because the mud is thick," he said, Saturday (2/13).
City Affirms River Normalization is Still Implemented as a Part of Flood ControlThis channel has width about 2 meters with mud as thick as 60 centimeters thus the channel's capacity is reduced and feared to cause inundation.
"If the weather is good, we can finish the dredging in the end of February," he asserted.
