The Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has started repairing the collapsed breakwater on the south side of Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district.
It has been ongoing since yesterday and is targeted to be complete today
Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency Head Abdul Rouf said 10 personnel had been sent to the location. The breakwater was collapsed after being hit by a big wave last week.
"Repair is done up to 50 meters long. It has been ongoing since yesterday and is targeted to be complete today," he expressed, Tuesday (2/16).
Wave Barrier Repair on Untung Jawa Island CompletedAccording to him, the repair itself used a massive cube material with wire sling ties to make it stronger when hit by waves.
"This breakwater is useful for protecting beaches and settlements from ocean waves," he stated.
