West Jakarta SDA Prepares Hundreds Pumps in Anticipating Flood

Anticipating flooding especially during heavy rain, West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has prepared hundreds pumps in a good condition and ready to use.

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency's Flood Control Section Head, Wira mentioned, his side tries to minimize inundation and flooding by preparing 136 stationary pumps and 54 mobile pumps.

"We always prepare hundred pumps every day and ensure it in good condition due to routine maintenance," he asserted, Wednesday (2/17).

Inundation on Jalan Bungur Gradually Receding from Afternoon

Those pumps were placed in areas prone to flooding such as Jl. Panjang, Kebon Jeruk and Kedaung Kaliangke, Cengkareng.

Especially for mobile pumps, he continued, his side will deploy it according to the needs in each flooded areas. Besides, mobile pumps deployment must be coordinated with urban village and sub-district officials.

"We always coordinate in handling flood, especially in deploying mobile pumps thus flood handling can be on target," he stated.
