Personnel Draining Water from Cilangkap Reservoir to Anticipate Overflow

Anticipating high water level and overflow, Cipayung Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force drained Cilangkap Reservoir on Thursday (2/18).

Cipayung Sub-district Head, Fajar Eko Satrio mentioned, personnel drained the reservoir using 3 floating pumps and 1 mobile pump to reduce water level at reservoir.

"We pump and drain water to Cilangkap connecting channel," he added.

Draining was carried out thus reservoir embankment did not burst, because sluice gate at reservoir outlet was damaged and not functioning.

By draining the water, he expected reservoirs can hold more rainwater when heavy rain falls.

"We will continue to drain it if water level in reservoir is quite high," he conveyed.
