Inundation at RW 7 Pondok Bambu Recedes Using Floating Pump

Flood water as high as 50-100 centimeters that had inundated RT 15/07 Pondok Bambu, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, on Friday (2/19) dawn at 3 AM had slowly receded in morning. At 9:30, it still remained 30-40 centimeters high.

Pondok Bambu Urban Village Head, Angga Sastra Amidjaya conveyed, his side deployed 1 floating pump and 30 joint personnel from SDA Task Force, PPSU, Satpol PP with assistance from FKDM and other related sides to handle inundation.

"We deploy 1 floating pump and 30 joint personnel to handle inundation," he said.

RW 07 was flooded due to rain with very high intensity from dawn to morning. It caused water channels in residential areas overflowed.

In order to prevent inundation to occur in the area, his side planned to build pipe from water channels in residential areas and connect it to H. Dogol Reservoir, as long as 50 meters.

"We will collaborate with SDA Sub-agency to build this water disposal pipe. We will deploy PPSU personnel for its installation," he mentioned.
