East Jakarta Gulkarmat Deploys 22 Rubber Boats to Evacuate Residents

Heavy rain that occurred throughout Jakarta areas from Friday (2/19) evening to Saturday (2/20) morning caused inundation with different heights in several locations in East Jakarta.

In order to overcome inundation, East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agencydeployed 22 rubber boats in 17 flooded locations.

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Fire Control and Rescue Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman mentioned, since 3 AM his side had deployed 22 rubber boats and 89 personnel to evacuate residents in flooded locations.

"By this morning, we have evacuated 39 residents. Most residents choose to stay at their homes," he stated.

According to him, 17 flooded locations in East Jakarta including RW 03 and 04, Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, Makasar; Jl. Laning Rambutan Urban Village; Jl. H. Taiman RT 004/10 Gedong Village, Pasar Rebo.

Next, Jl. Lebak Sawah RT 004/02 Cijantung Urban Village; RT 007/10 Tengah Urban Village, Kramat Jati; Jl. Masjid Al-Umar RW 05 and RW 12 Lubang Buaya Urban Village; Jl. Penggilingan Baru 1 RT 11/04 Dukuh Urban Village, Kramat Jati.

As well as Setu Indah Housing RT 002/03, RT 0010/04, RT 008/04, RT 009/04 Setu Urban Village, Cipayung; Jl. H. Bain RT 01/08 Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, Ciracas; Jl. Cakrawala RT 01/10 Kebon Pala Urban Village, Makasar; RW 04 Pekayon Urban Village; Jl. Tanjung RT 09/05 Ciracas Urban Village.

Then, Gang Mawar Cipinang Asem RT 12/09 Kebon Pala Urban Village; Jl. Persatuan RT 10/09 Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village; Komseko Police Dormitory, Rambutan Urban Village; Gang Kramat IV RT 03/03 Lubang Buaya; and Jl. Cipinang Bali RT 12/13 Cipinang Muara Urban Village, Jatinegara.

"We also deploy 10 quick rescue pumps to several flooded locations. We will add more pumps to speed up flood handling," he asserted.
