After holding long meeting, Jakarta Wage Board finally sets the Standard Cost of Living (KHL) in the amount of Rp 2,538,174.31. Previously, the amount of KHL was only Rp 2.2 million.

The KHL is set at Rp 2,538,174.31

“KHL determination meeting was held on Thursday (11/6) from 10 AM to 10 PM, and lasted quite hard. The KHL is set at Rp 2,538,174.31,” stated Head of Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Department, Priyono, Friday (11/7).

Next, Priyono continued, Jakarta Wage Board will hold another meeting to determine the amount of Jakarta Province Minimum Wage (UMP) to be recommended to Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. The meeting is scheduled on Thursday (11/12).

Noodle and Coffee Disturb KHL Determination

“After there is this KHL amount, we will make recommendation about the amount of UMP to Acting Governor. We only give recommendation, the Governor who will set the amount (of UMP) to be announced to the public,” he uttered.

As known, the determination of KHL amount has been delayed for several times although the deadline for UMP determination was on November 1. In 2012 the KHL was Rp 1,401,000 with UMP Rp 1,529,150, in 2013 the KHL was Rp 1,987,789 with UMP Rp 2,200,000, and this year the KHL is Rp 2,299,860 with UMP Rp 2,441,301.

“We make sure that the UMP this year will be higher than last year,” stressed Priyono.
