Makasar Prioritizes Merah Bridge Repairs in Musrenbang Meeting

The bridge must be elevated up to 25 meters height with 2.5 meters width

The Merah Bridge repair on Jalan H Sulaeman, Cipinang Melayu Urban Village (Cipmel) has become a priority scale in the regional development planning forums (musrenbang) for Makasar Sub-district, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (2/23).

Makasar Sub-district Head Kamal Alatas said the bridge repair located in the border area of RW 03 and 04 Cipinang Melayu was prioritized, as the narrow road caused a pile of garbage on the bridge body and the water overflowed the residential areas.

"The bridge must be elevated up to 25 meters height with 2.5 meters width," he said.

He went on to say that another priority scale proposal was the repair of the Cipinang River's sheet pile on Jalan H. Hasbi, RW 03, Kebon Pala Urban Village along 4,100 meters.

"Many sheet piles collapsed and the bridge railing was damaged. Even some poles blocking the road, it needs immediate repairs," he explained.

East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar who led the musrenbang virtually explained the meeting discussed 556 proposals worth Rp 84.9 billion.

Of 556 proposals, 434 were physical proposals worth Rp 84.29 billion, 61 were non-physical proposals worth Rp 436.1 million and 71 items of goods procurement worth Rp 257.7 million.

In the meeting, he requested for additional proposals about skill training for the community in a bid to create new entrepreneurs in solving the problem of unemployment.

"The governor wants community empowerment to be further improved," he stressed.

Similar statement also came out from one of Jakarta DPRD members, Syarief.

"We are about to face post-pandemic, so we need non-physical suggestions in the form of job training. This is about improving the quality of human resource," he uttered.

His party would also collect the aspirations of the community in the recess of council members combined with the results of the musrenbang.

"The proposal results will later be synchronized for avoiding overlapping," he closed.
