Jakpreneurs Under PPKUKM Agency Has Exceeded RPJMD Target

Jakarta Industry Trade Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Agency has managed to recruit 226,280 jakpreneurs. The number has exceeded the target of 200,000 jakpreneurs set in the 2017-2022 mid-term regional development plan (RPJMD).

Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, Division Head of Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) said, despite the target had been achieved, the UKM could still join the integrated entrepreneurship development program (PKT) or become jakpreneurs.

"We achieved the target on December 15, 2020. O ur focus now is a quality improvement for Jakpreneur," she expressed, Tuesday (3/2).

She explained, the agency was trying to increase the scale of Jakpreneur's business through oriented activities towards improving quality with indicators of turnover, assets, and employment.

It was not only measured by the product alone. However, the quality and utilization of human resources as entrepreneurs through the use of technology and local resources to have a competitive advantage for economic strengthening and reduce unemployment and poverty.

"If there are many customers, their assets and income will increase automatically. Surely they will recruit other people to work that aims to reduce unemployment, that is where the Jakpreneur comes in," she explained.

She went on to say that collaboration with stakeholders would also be  intensified for improving their quality in term of universities, private sector, and other institutions.

"We must collaborate with multistakeholders in taking advantage of opportunities to invite residents to become Jakpreneur members, and to hold training and empowerment for MSME actors in Jakarta," she stated.
