Comprehensive Overhaul Trial for Ratangga will Be Carried Out in August 2021

PT. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta (Perseroda) will conduct maintenance and comprehensive overhaul trial for Ratangga, which is planned to start in August 2021.
PT. MRT Jakarta will overhaul all 16 trains or total 96 cars until 2023
This comprehensive overhaul is carried out every four years where train condition will be checked, such as its bogie by cleaning and washing it, testing, and changing lubricant. Moreover, maintenance and testing also conducted for electrical system.
PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Operation and Maintenance Head, Muhammad Effendi conveyed, during overhaul, all train parts will be dismantled and examined carefully.
MRT Jakarta Operation Returns to Normal"This activity will be assisted by experts team from Japan. However, there will be also transfer knowledge and skills. Thus in the future, MRT Jakarta human resources can carry out this activity independently," he asserted, Thursday (3/4).
According to him, PT. MRT Jakarta will overhaul all 16 trains or total 96 cars until 2023.
During overhaul, he ensured this process will not interfere operational services thus people can still use MRT service as usual.
"After overhaul, Ratangga will be more comfortable and safer for passengers," he stated.
According to him, Ratangga overhaul process will be documented well thus PT. MRT Jakarta has archives of knowledge and skills that can be used as learning sources for the employees.
"It includes evaluation and improvements thus Ratangga maintenance can be more effective and efficient," he mentioned.
For information, MRT Jakarta is a train made by Nippon Sharyo, Japan. It is dominated in blue and metallic gray colors, one train can have length up to 20 meters and unladen weight of 31-35 tons.
Each train has capacity of 332 passengers with seats made from fiber reinforced plastic with fire resistant. While train window is made with safety glasses that absorbs heat.
Each train is equipped with room temperature controller, two CCTVs, information screen, intercom, emergency door opening lever, light fire extinguisher, and others.
