Garbage and Mud in Tanjung Priok Cleaned to Prevent Flooding

Around 160 joint personnel have been dispatched to clean up mud and garbage that had settled in the Tanjung Priok Port's Post 3 and 9 areas, North Jakarta.

This is done, as they (Post 3 and 9) are often flooded as high as 20 cm and will recede about an hour later

Tanjung Priok Sub-district Head Syamsul Huda expressed those joint personnel were from sub-district, Satpol PP, Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, Bina Marga Sub-agency, Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency, Parks and Forestry Sub-agency, Military Naval Command (Kolinlamil), and Pelabuhan Indonesia II (IPC).

"This is done, as they (Post 3 and 9) are often flooded as high as 20 cm and will recede about an hour later. We hope this action can minimize flooding," he expressed, Thursday (3/4).

He also appreciated the cooperation of all parties who were involved in the cleanup action. It was very important in handling flooding, especially in Tanjung Priok area.

"Hopefully this collaboration can be maintained and be improved in the future," he hoped.
