15,551 Residents Netted for Not Wearing Masks in North Jakarta

In January 1-March 5 period, North Jakarta Satpol PP netted 15,551 people who didn't wear mask in public area.

North Jakarta Satpol PP Operational Section Head, Purnama mentioned, total 15,154 violators were subject to social work sanctions such as sweeping streets and cleaning garbage. While 397 violators were given administrative fine with total value Rp 60,500,000.

"We carry out Mask Operation every day to improve people's discipline in complying with health protocols to prevent COVID-19 transmission," he explained, Saturday (3/6).

Not only conducted Mask Operation, but at the same time his side also monitored health protocols implementation in 1,510 workplaces in North Jakarta. As the result, no violations were found in 1,033 workplaces.

"The remaining 458 workplaces were given written warning, 15 workplaces were temporarily closed for 3x24 hours, 4 workplaces were subject to administrative fines with total Rp 58 million. They violated health protocols by not limiting employees who work at office maximum 25 percent, not maintaining safe distance, and not wearing masks," he said.

His side also monitored health protocols in number of restaurants from January 1 to March 5. No violation found in 1,260 restaurants.

"393 restaurants were given written warning, 160 restaurants were temporarily closed for 1x24 hours and 7 restaurants were temporarily closed for 3x24 hours," he added.
