Arrangement of Three Reservoirs in Cipayung Keeps Being Accelerated

We will accelerate the arrangement of the reservoir in order to smoothen water flow and to prevent inundation

The East Jakarta administration continues to speed up the arrangement of Cilangkap, Giri Kencana and Pondok Ranggon reservoirs, which are located in Cipayung Sub-district area.

This statement was asserted by Kusmanto, Assistant for East Jakarta Economic Development and Environment, when he surveyed the three reservoirs, Monday (3/8).

He said it was done to determine the condition of the three reservoirs which are currently being normalized.

"We will accelerate the arrangement of the reservoir in order to smoothen water flow and to prevent inundation," he said.

According to him, in Cilangkap Reservoir area, there was a land of approximately 30 hectares. Part of it was used as a reservoir with two sections and part of it was still land.

"This is done thus the land can become a reservoir optimally," he said.

Then at Giri Kencana Reservoir as wide as 2.3 hectares, improvements would be made to the inlet channel and outlet.

As for Pondok Ranggon Reservoir, there was a 2.3-hectare width which would be used as reservoirs such as those in Pondok Ranggon 1 and 2.

"We're about to coordinate with the Park and Urban Forest Agency and the SDA Agency for the construction of the Pondok Ranggon 3 Reservoir. At least, as a water reservoir first," he stated.
