Culture Agency Collaborates with Bamus Betawi to Develop Betawi Culture

Jakarta Culture Agency Head, Iwan Henry Wardhana signed Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with Betawi Community Consultative Board (Bamus Betawi) regarding the use of agreement object in form of building with an area of 400 m2 in Benyamin Suaeb Park, Jl. Bekasi Timur No. 76, East Jakarta to be operated by Bamus Betawi.

The purpose of this agreement is as a legal basis for the parties in the use of space in Benyamin Suaeb Park for Betawi culture preservation and development activities

This cooperation agreement was made based on Gubernatorial Decree No. 57/2021 concerning stipulation of the use of agreement object in form of building to be operated by Bamus Betawi. This signing was held at Jakarta Culture Agency Office Building which attended by Bamus Betawi Head, Abraham Lunggana (Haji Lulung).

"The purpose of this agreement is as a legal basis for the parties in the use of space in Benyamin Suaeb Park for Betawi culture preservation and development activities. In addition, it will be also used to use the potentials, increase activities and welfare of artists in Jakarta Province," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

For information, the scope of this agreement includes Betawi culture preservation and development activities at Benyamin Suaeb Park in number of sectors, such as art, archeology, museum, history, linguistics and humanities, customs, literature and text, film, traditional clothing, culinary, ornaments or architecture, and souvenirs.

In this cooperation agreement, his side hoped Jakarta Culture Agency can continue to collaborate with related parties in order to advance Jakarta citizens and always pay attention to the community. Besides, Bamus Betawi can also carry out its function as Betawi community organization with support from Jakarta Government, especially Culture Agency.
