Cipayung Health Center Provides Mini ICU During Vaccination for Elderly

In order to give excellent service in dynamic vaccination for elderly, Cipayung Sub-district Health Center (Puskesmas) provides mini ICU room with size about 3x8 square meters while carrying out vaccination at SMAN 64 Cipayung building, on Monday (3/15).

Cipayung Sub-district Health Center Head, Rini Muharni conveyed, mini ICU room which provided through collaboration with Adhyaksa Hospital is equipped with 3 beds, 1 doctor, 1 nurse, and 1 emergency ambulance.

According to her, the mini ICU room is used for emergencies if there are elderly people who experience health problems after vaccination or during observation stage.

"Because participants we served in this dynamic vaccination are elderly, so it is necessary to have mini ICU room thus health workers can be more prepared," she mentioned.

For this dynamic vaccination program for elderly at SMAN 64, her side deployed 56 health workers which divided in 5 teams. Each team consisted of doctor, nurse, midwife, and administration staff.

Especially for elderly people over 60 years old, there are two types of screening. First is P3G screening to detect bone fragility, then second is health screening.

"However, if they pass the test but have high blood pressure, vaccination must be postponed and participants must wait for their blood pressure to return to normal," she asserted.

On the other hand, Cipayung Sub-district Head, Fajar Eko Satrio targeted 700 elderly people to participate in COVID-19 vaccination at SMAN 64 building today.

This is the last day he held the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination in Cipayung. Because the second dose of vaccination will be given from March 28 to April 12.

"Our target for today is 700 elderly people because the second dose of vaccine will be given in the fasting month and today is the last day we hold dynamic vaccination for elderly," he explained.
