Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama hopes for the guided craftsmen to be able to participate in the exhibitions held abroad to market their products.
They (craftsmen) should be joined in exhibition in Hong Kong or other countries to introduce Betawi batik designs and encim clothes
“They (craftsmen) should be joined in exhibition in Hong Kong or other countries to introduce Betawi batik designs and encim clothes,” stated Ahok when opening the Jakarta National Handicrafts (Dekranasda) Council Superior Products Exhibition held at Block G, City Hall, Monday (11/10).
According to Ahok, every exhibition held by the regional work unit (SPKD) is supposedly not merely focused on formality activities and so on, just aiming for budget absorption only.
100 Small-Medium Industries to Enliven the East jakarta Great Exhibition“Products exhibition should be able to increase sales and promotions in long term,” he asserted.
For information, this event is participated by 36 Dekranasda members from all over Jakarta areas, and is held until December 13, 2014. Various craftsmen products are exhibited, starting from batik clothes, daily outfit, shoes, sandals, decorative lamps, until souvenirs, etc.
Although it is not as a leading sector in this event, yet the Jakarta Family Planning and Women and Community Empowerment Board (BPMPKB) has worked hard to develop its network to enliven the event.
“We set up booths for craftsmen, so their superior products can be widely known,” said Head of Jakarta BPMPKB, Deded Sukendar.
