Ahok Asks Street Vendors to Always Maintain Cleanliness

Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama is known as a person who firmly against violations made by street vendors (PKL). Commonly, those who violate the rules will be controlled. But this time, he only warned them.

If you sell on sidewalk, please don’t throw trash haphazardly

This is happened after Ahok arrived at the City Hall using TransJakarta bus, Monday (11/10). When he saw the street vendors selling in front of City Hall, he asked them to always maintain cleanliness.

“If you sell on sidewalk, please don’t throw trash haphazardly,” said Ahok while approaching a grass jelly ice vendor in front of City Hall who only nodded and listened to Ahok warning.

Ahok Wants Guided Craftsmen to Be Participated in International Exhibitions

Besides grass jelly ice vendor, there was also a mobile instant coffee seller. To him, Ahok also warned the street vendor to maintain cleanliness.

“We do not prohibit street vendors to sell on sidewalks, because they would get profit since many people are passing by. But, don’t close the road because it is dangerous,” he asserted.

Similar to previous street vendor, the mobile instant coffee seller only nodded and listened to Ahok’s warning.

“Yes sir, yes sir,” he said.
