MRT Jakarta Receives Award from MURI as the Most Bicycle Facility Provider

PT. Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta (Perseroda) received award certificate from Indonesia World Records Museum (MURI) as Public Transportation Operator that Provides Most Facilities for Cycling Passengers.

This award was handed over by MURI Operation Deputy Director, Awan Rahargo to PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director, William P. Sabandar at Bundaran HI Station, Thursday (3/25).

William appreciated this award as a form of attention and support from MURI to PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) to continue providing excellent transportation service to the community, especially Jakarta residents.

LRT Jakarta Launches LRTJ Cyclist-Friendly Program

"It becomes motivation injection for MRT Jakarta and public in supporting collaborative public transport that will increase mobility and change lifestyle that we want to achieve together," he conveyed, Friday (3/26).

According to him, access to folding and non-folding bicycles is provided by MRT Jakarta for cyclists as one of its commitments in providing benefits to various parties.

"We really support efforts to improve air quality and overcome congestion, along with changes in people's lifestyle from using private vehicles to public transport," he added.

For information, here are various supporting facilities which provided by PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) for cyclists;

1. 25 bike racks spread across 13 stations

2. 41 bicycle signs

3. Special lines for cyclists along MRT Jakarta corridor

4. Bicycle shelter at Dukuh Atas BNI Station

5. Access to non-folding bicycle in three stations, namely Bundaran HI, Blok M BCA, and Lebak Bulus GRAB Stations.

6. Elevator for folding bicycles

7. Special railway car for non-folding bicycle (6th car in each train series)

8. Special railway car for folding bicycle (3rd and 4th cars in each train series)

9. Temporary parking area for non-folding bicycle in Lebak Bulus Grab Station, Blok M BCA Station, and Bundaran HI Station

10. Partnering with Jakarta Bike Hub

11. Special tapping gate for bicycles
