3,304 Meters Micro Channels Dredged in Grogol Petamburan

Grogol Petamburan Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit continues its efforts to overcome floods and inundation. One of its efforts is to dredge micro water channels or connecting channels, especially in areas prone to inundation.

Mud dredging is expected to increase channel's capacity and accelerate flow of water

Grogol Petamburan Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Agus conveyed, from January to March, his side had dredged micro water channels in 12 points or along 3,304 meters with mud volume of 567.79 cubic meters.

"Mud dredging is expected to increase channel's capacity and accelerate flow of water, especially when heavy rain falls, thus it can minimize inundation and flood," he explained, Tuesday (3/30).

Most of dredging work was carried out to follow up resident's reports submitted through CRM application. During the work, his side disposed the mud to Ancol.

"Not only mud, but we also clean the channels from garbage," he added.

Here are the list of 12 micro channel points that were dredged in January-March;

1. Channel on Jl. Jelambar Baru Jaya RW 02 Jelambar Urban Village with length 495 meters and mud volume reached 97.50 cubic meters.

2. Channel on Jl. Tanjung Duren Barat I RT 04/04 Tanjung Duren Utara Urban Village with length 45 meters and mud volume reached 10.00 cubic meters.

3. Channel on Jl. Tanjung Duren Dalam VI RT 06/03 Tanjung Duren Selatan Urban Village with length 88 meters and mud volume reached 46.67 cubic meters.

4. Channel on Jl. Hadiah RT 08 and 09 Jelambar Urban Village with length 1,202 meters and mud volume reached 167.34 cubic meters.

5. Channel on Jl. Tanjung Duren Timur VI RT 06/03 Tanjung Duren Selatan Urban Village with length 182 meters and mud  volume reached 36.67 cubic meters.

6. Channel on Jl. Tanjung Duren Timur RT 15/05 Tanjung Duren Selatan Urban Village with length 67 meters and mud volume reached 6.67 cubic meters.

7. Channel on Jl. Tanjung Duren Dalam II RT 05/03 Tanjung Duren Selatan Urban Village with length 244 meters and mud volume reached 40.00 cubic meters.

8. Channel on Jl. Tanjung Duren Dalam VI RT 07/03 Tanjung Duren Selatan Urban Village with length 330 meters and mud volume reached 61.67 cubic meters.

9. Channel on Jl. Way Besar RT 03/01 Tanjung Duren Selatan Urban Village with length 48 meters and mud volume reached 7.50 cubic meters.

10. Channel on Jl. Tanjung Duren Timur RT 09/05 Tanjung Duren Selatan Urban VI with length 166 meters and mud volume reached 27.50 cubic meters.

11. Channel on Jl. Rambutan Timur RT 01/04 Tanjung Duren Utara Urban Village with length 293 meters and mud volume reached 42.50 cubic meters.

12. Channel on Jl. Jelambar Baru RT 05/04 Jelambar Baru Urban Village with length 145 meters and mud volume reached 24.17 cubic meters.
