Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama received a visit from the United States (US) of Commerce Minister Assistant entourage which accompanied by US Ambassador for Indonesia Republic, Robert Blake.

The meeting that held privately for 30 minutes discussed the probability of cooperation between Jakarta Provincial Government and the United States. One of the things discussed was cooperation in energy sector since US owns turbine to produce electricity from gas.

“They already have advance technology in energy sector, while we have many gas pipes. So, later we could build small scale PLTG (gas-powered electric generator) in Jakarta. Moreover, there are many airports and long lasting batteries for motor vehicles in US. We want those, bus with electric battery,” stated Ahok after the meeting at City Hall, Tuesday (11/11) afternoon.

Even so, Ahok admitted there has been no definitive conversation yet related to the cooperation plan. This is because the purpose of US government representatives visit at this time is to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

“We’re just discussing. For follow ups, they will send delegation. There are entrepreneurs in US who want to meet our entrepreneurs, business to business for assessment,” he uttered.
