5 Tons Seaweed Seeds Distributed for Seaweed Farmers in Thousand Islands

Thousand Islands Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency distributed seaweed seeds to seaweed farmers in North Thousand Islands and South Thousand Islands Sub-districts.

This assistance is given to support seaweed farming development in Thousand Islands

Thousand Islands KPKP Sub-agency Head, Devi Lidya mentioned, those 5 tons seaweed seeds were given by Lampung Marine Aquaculture Development Center (BBPBL) to seaweed farmers in Thousand Islands.

"This assistance is given to support seaweed farming development in Thousand Islands," she conveyed, Wednesday (3/31).

KPKP Sub-agency Gives Training to 114 Seaweed Cultivators

She explained, 5 tons seaweed seeds were distributed to five seaweed farmers in Panggang Island Urban Village, North Thousand Sub-district and 3 seaweed farmers in Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.

"We distribute Eucheuma Cottoni seaweed seeds which are suitable to be planted in the waters of Thousand Islands. Hopefully this assistance can increase seaweed production and farmer's economy," she said.
