Press Council Appreciates City for Collaboration in Holding Vaccination for Media Workers

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan once again reviewed vaccination activity for journalists and media workers which carried out by Jakarta Government at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (4/5).

Together with Press Council and media editorial leaders, this visit was done to ensure all registered media workers had received vaccine.
Press Council's Inter-Agency Relations Commission Chairperson, Agus Sudibyo appreciated Governor Anies and his subordinates for facilitating media workers who work in the capital to undergo vaccination.

And the good thing is, this quota is not only for residents who live in DKI, but also all journalists both have Jakarta ID card and others who work in Jakarta. He also encouraged journalists and media workers who haven't received vaccination to coordinate it immediately with journalist's association such as Independent Journalists Alliance (AJI), Indonesian Journalist Association (PWI), Media Leadership Forum, and so on. Thus it is easier to collect data of journalists who will be vaccinated without having to register personally.
"Hopefully it can facilitate the fellow journalists to increase their body immunity, so God willing, we will be safe from COVID-19 and we can work more safely. Of course, we urge those who have been vaccinated to always implement 3M. For my fellow journalists and media workers who work every day, please be disciplined in complying with health protocols," he conveyed.
Anies assessed that journalist is one professions that have the risk of exposure, but have responsibility to convey information needed by the community, thus vaccination should be carried out immediately.
"Journalists must be healthy. Journalists must be productive and able to work anywhere. That is why joint program between Press Council and Jakarta Government is important to ensure journalists in capital city have immunity thus they can work continuously since they are not exposed. After completing 5,200 quota, we are ready to add another 1,000 quota. For Press Council members who haven't vaccinated yet, you still have a chance," he mentioned.
According to him, additional 1,000 quota will be prioritized for fellow journalists because they continue to struggle as the forefront in providing information such as government policies in overcoming COVID-19.
"That's why we need to take care of this important thing. We also express our gratitude for Press Council because through this collaboration, vaccination can be carried out more orderly and simpler. God willing, this collaboration will be continued in the future," he said.
