The Tanjung Priok Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit, North Jakarta are seen dredging the water channel on Jalan Sunter Pratama, RT 20/08, Sunter Jaya Urban Village.

Tanjung Priok Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Deny Hendarto said it had been ongoing since early April and was targeted to be complete in June.

"Thus far we have dredged the channel up to 400 meters length," he expressed, Friday (4/16).

He stated the depth of the mud had reached 60 centimeters. Every day, his side managed to collect 300 to 400 sacks or around 5.4 cubic meters.

To conduct it, nine officers were alerted at the location. It was carried out to accommodate rainwater in large quantities and to overcome the flood problem.

"Hopefully the channel will return to optimal functioning thus flooding can be minimized when it rains," he hoped.
