1,000 Mangrove Seedlings Planted in Tidung Kecil Island

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Agency's Center for Marine Cultivation and Conservation (PBKL) collaborates with Jakarta Mangrove Community to plant 1,000 mangrove seedlings on Tidung Kecil Island, Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands.

We invite communities to preserve the environment as a means of education

Jakarta KPKP Agency's PBKL Marine Conservation Head, Cecep Hermawan said, this mangrove seedlings planting was carried out to expand green areas as eco-tourism and protect the island from abrasion.

"We invite communities to preserve the environment as a means of education, as well as protecting the coast and its ecosystem. We hope there will be more communities that care about the environment and coastal areas," he asserted, Monday (4/19).

Regent Reviews Bicycle Lane Construction in Pramuka Island

According to him, by planting 1,000 mangrove seedings can expand mangrove area in Tidung Kecil Island by about 50 square meters on north side of Tidung Kecil Island.  

"We plant mangrove seedlings from Tidung Island PBKL Nursery and Development," he explained.
