PT Bank DKI Secretary Herry Djufraini said as many as 5,000 mangrove seeds were being planted on a 500-square meter width land that had been ongoing since December 23.

"This is an implementation program for Bank DKI Peduli's CSR program activities," he expressed, Friday (12/25).

He said, it is one of the implementation of a sustainable financial program that emphasizes the balance between social, economic and environmental aspects, especially in terms of protecting marine ecosystems.

"Hopefully it can provide benefits for improving the quality of the environment in Jakarta," he said.

He added, its planting was able to help cities get clean water and air. Mangrove forests also function as natural ocean wave breakers along Jakarta's north coast and increase green open space while helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

As for the information, last year, they also planted 5,000 seeds at the same location. Currently, thousands of these trees are continuously maintained and have reached a height of 1.5 meters.
