10,000 Mangrove Seedlings Planted in Pengantin Bridge Tourism Area

The Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Puja Berhias Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), South Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands collaborates with PT Nusantara Regas to plant 10,000 mangrove seedlings on the north side of the Pengantin Bridge tourist area.

Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Puja Berhias Pokdarwis Chairperson Rusli disclosed those seedlings were obtained through the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

"By so we want the tourist area to be greener and more sustainable in order to further add to the comfort of tourists. Moreover mangroves are also very necessary to resist abrasion," he expressed, Friday (10/23).

In the meantime, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head Supriyadi appreciated Pokdarwis' efforts to expand the mangrove park in the tourist area of the Pengantin Bridge as a tourist destination, as well as safeguarding the island from abrasion.

"I'm also happy, this activity is an effort to conserve the environment and increase the number of eco-based tourist destinations or ecotourism on Untung Jawa Island," he stated.
